Why
I grew up in Fincastle, a small town in Southwest Virginia whose stories have more historical significance than most. The town and its incredible architecture and people served as a rich backdrop to my childhood and cemented my fascination with place and with storytelling.
My father was a carpenter specializing in historic restoration, and my mother studied interior design. My childhood homes were impeccably designed and built (or restored) with loving care and respect for their era. They were also usually a little bit unfinished, because doing it the right way takes time.

When both my parents died in quick succession beginning in 2021, my world was shattered. I had to settle their estates, move what I wanted to Seattle, and integrate their (very traditional) pieces into my home. This process helped me grieve, and grow, and write my own new chapter. To honor our shared lifelong love of place, storytelling, and design, I decided to pursue a career in interior design.
Through this work I help clients tell the story of their home and lives with decor, renovation, and stewardship.
